uOttawa Entrance Scholarship

Presented on behalf of The Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. This Award is a $1,000 scholarship to the most deserving Senior project (grade 11 or 12 only).

Curiosity & Ingenuity
An outstanding project that helps improve our understanding or addresses a problem in an area of STEM not covered by the other challenges.
Digital Technology
An outstanding project that helps improve our quality of life or transforms existing products and services through digital devices, methods or systems.
Disease & Illness
An outstanding project that helps enhance our diagnosis, treatment or understanding of disease, or the management of physical or mental illness.
Energy
An outstanding project that helps improve our use of current energy sources, enables the transition to alternative energy sources, or reduces our energy footprint.
Environment & Climate Change
An outstanding project that helps ensure the quality of water, air, soil or the diversity of living things, or manages the impact of climate change.
Health & Wellness
An outstanding project that helps prevent disease or promotes physical, social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, or intellectual well-being.
Natural Resourses
An outstanding project that helps ensure the sustainable management, use, reuse or recycling of Earth’s finite or renewable natural resources.

Given to a project that serves humanity by advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and their allied fields.
Canada Post Award

Awarded to projects that have implications for the shipping industry, including materials, manufacturing, packaging, transportation, storage, and recycling/disposal.
Canadian Meteorological & Oceanographic Society (CMOS) Award

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Award

The aim of this award is to recognize projects that demonstrate excellence in a particular area of Electronics, Coding, App development, Communication technologies, etc., that may not be already covered in areas such as Aerospace or Logistics.
ORSF Consumer Products Award

This award is given to a project that demonstrates a real world, marketable concept or device.
ORSF Life Sciences Award

The aim of this award is to recognize projects that demonstrate excellence in a particular area of Life Sciences not already covered by Health, Medicine or Horticulture. Projects addressing cell theory, simple organisms or projects with a particular niche such as agriculture may be considered.
ORSF Most Popular Award

All participants will be given a ballot with which they can vote for the project they like best.
ORSF Physics Award

The aim of this award is to recognize projects that demonstrate excellence in a particular area of Physics or Mathematics. These projects may be theoretical or applied in nature.

Ottawa Horticultural Society Award

Projects demonstrating understanding of factors of growth and reproduction of higher plants, whether they are grown for decorative purposes, for the production of food, or to modify their immediate environment.
uOttawa Faculty of Medicine Special Award

Awarded to independent research projects related to health science.
uOttawa Health & Social Sciences Award
$100 x 1
Awarded to a project that demonstrates an exceptionally well-developed methodology and that has implications for the social sciences or practical health care.
uOttawa Translational Molecular Medicine (TMM) Award

Awarded to an outstanding project presenting an innovative approach to addressing an emerging biomedical issue.
Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) Award

Awarded to a top project related to one or more of the following subject areas:
– Water and wastewater treatment
– Stormwater management
– Biosolids energy and resource recovery
– Water reuse/grey water systems
– Constructed wetlands
